Battery Charger with LCD Display

(3 customer reviews)

$46.95

Charger for the replaceable battery in the Wind Instrument RB.  Plugs into AC wall plug, DC 12-volt socket or USB.  LCD screen provides immediate updates on state of charge. Tachometer-style gauge shows 10% intervals of battery capacity, and flashes when battery is full.

This charger is designed to work with our replaceable lithium (LFP) batteries.  It is safe, and provides an optimal charge without making the battery overheat. There are other chargers on the market and some may have a lower price, but they may have unpredictable effects since single-cell batteries have no safety circuits built in. We only recommend using this battery charger (and provide no guarantee or support if our batteries are charged with other chargers). Charger includes prevention for overheating, short circuit and reverse polarity.  Charge current is gradually increased, reducing high-current impact on batteries. This charger is not going to destroy the battery or cause safety issues such as fire.  The LCD display shows current, capacity (lifespan) and voltage in real time.

Contains independent circuits for charging 1 battery, or 2 batteries at different levels.

Remove the black shrink-wrap on the battery before placing it in the charger. Note the plus and minus symbols. After charging up, we suggest putting black electrical tape over the battery to give it a snug fit in the nose cone, and for a bit of extra insulation.

  1. Customer Service (store manager)

Thanks for your comments Paul. Yes, it is very important that the battery is full when it goes on the mast, and to occasionally monitor the battery level when the Wind Instrument is up there. We do ship all batteries with a full charge. This wall charger makes it quick and easy to top up the battery at the beginning or end of the season, to keep the battery working well for many years.

The product and new battery was delivered quickly. I wish I had known that the battery requires a full charge before being used by the solar powered wind instrument. Attached are photos of the original battery after the wind instrument was on my mast for only 6 Months. Not a pretty sight.

Got here fast and it did the job. Happy purchase.
